Mobile Phone Virus hits US

A mobile phone in San Francisco has tested positive for the Cabir virus. The Cabir virus spreads via Bluetooth to phones running the Symbian operating system.

This is no suprise, although it is scary. The virus itself, in it's current state, mainly just drains the battery. However, since the source code of Cabir is available on the web, it's likely that more virii will emerge that are much more malignant.

Lexus claims that their vehicles are not susceptible to Cabir, even though they are running the Symbian operating system.
